Grant Writer
 
Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is seeking a full-time, experienced grant writer to join its development team.  The individual selected will research diverse federal, state, corporate and foundation funding opportunities and coordinate the development, writing and submission of proposals/bids and associated, post-award progress reporting.  The position reports to the Director of Resource Development; interacts with agency leadership staff routinely; and, represents the agency in the community.
 
Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is a large social service, education, child welfare, and mental health focused nonprofit serving nearly 9,000 individuals annually. This in-office position will be based at FSRI’s Thurbers Avenue location in Providence, RI.
 
Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in a human services or communications discipline with a minimum of three years of related experience and a proven track record in securing new and continuation grant and contract funding.  Candidates should have an understanding of development best practices.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  Experience with the MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential. Familiarity with electronic grant application platforms preferred. Candidates should be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects of varying scope and intensity simultaneously.  Writing samples will be requested.
