Coaching Programs

All of AGWA's coaches hold a valid Certified Grant Writer® credential and have at least 5 years experience as a grant consultant. 


AGWA offers the following Grant Coaching Options to its members:


Review Coach for a Foundation Grant (project/program grant)
Review of a Letter or Proposal for a Foundation or Corporate Grant
The Mentor will provide a professional review of one letter or proposal for a Foundtion or Corporate Grant including the Budget and Budget Narrative for program support, general operating support, or capital support.  The Mentor is limited to providing advice and recommendations and may not provide any writing, researching, budgeting, or rewriting services.  Member Price:  $49.00

Grant Writing Coach for a Foundation Program or General Operating Grant
Guidance to Prepare a Letter or Proposal for a Foundation or Corporate Grant
The Mentor will guide the member in the process of writing one Letter, Letter of Inquiry, Proposal, or Common Grant Application for a Foundation or Corporate Grant for program support pr general operating support. The Mentor may not actually perform the grantmaker research or perform any grant writing, but may provide advice and recommendations.  The mentor will be available up to 90 days.   The member must have successfully completed one of the following courses prior to registering:  
  • Foundation Grant Package (series of 3 online courses)
  • Grant Writing for Nonprofit Organizations
  • Program Development and Proposal Writing (online course or workshop)

Grant Writing Coach for a Government Grant
Guidance to prepare an Application for a Federal, State, or Local Government Grant
The mentor will guide the member in the process of preparing the application template, narrative, budget, budget narrative, and attachments.  The mentor may not actually perform researching the grant opportunitiy, researching statistics, or grant writing, but may provide advice and recommendations.  The mentor will provide advise and recommendations for a maximum of 90 days.  The member must have successfully completed one of the following prior to registering:
  • Grant Writing for Government Grants (online course)
  • Program Development and Proposal Writing (online course or workshop)
Member Price:  $199.00

Review Coach for a Government Grant
Review of one Government Grant Application
The Mentor will provide a professional review of one Grant Application for a Federal, State, or Local grant.  The member should provide the application package complete with the Project Narrative, Budget, Budget Narrative, and all other attachments.  The Mentor is limited to providing advice and recommendations on the documents and may not provide writing services, rewriting services, or budget preparation services.  The member must have successfully completed one of the following courses prior to registering:
  • Grant Writing for Government Grants (online course or workshop)
  • Program Development and Proposal Writing (online course or workshop)
